A yet-to-be-identified man was electrocuted while allegedly attempting to steal transformer cables in the Jattu community in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

A source said residents woke up on Monday morning, January 29, 2024,  to see the corpse of the suspect dangling on two electric poles where a transformer was sited.

It was gathered that the victim had cut the cable beneath the transformer, packed it aside, and climbed up the electric pole to cut the four long cables that connect the light to the transformer to the low tension wire.

The source added that officials of BEDC came and evacuated the corpse.
