Oba AbdulRafiu Olaniyi Ajiboye Oyelaran, the Oloro of Oro Kingdom in Kwara State, has died.
The monarch reportedly died in the early hours of Saturday.
The Nation learned that he died in his mid-70s after a illness that lasted over a year.
It was further gathered the late monarch was falsely reported dead last year during the illness, only to be announced alive later.
A statement by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Rafiu Ajakaye, said he joined his ancestors during the wee hours of Saturday.
Abdulrazaq referred to the late monarch as “a man who was passionate about the development of his kingdom, a peacemaker, and a father figure to all.”
According to AbdulRazaq, the Oloro would be missed for his triumphs, honesty and dedication to peace and unification.
