The candidate of the SDP in the November 11 gubernatorial election in Kogi State, Murtala Ajaka has said that he will not challenge the result of the election in court if he loses because it would be a waste of time.
Ajaka made this statement during an interview with Channels TV after he was asked whether or not he intends to go to court if APC’s candidate emerges as the winner. He also expressed his deep disappointment with the conduct of the election in Kogi and the role played by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
In Ajaka’s words: “I have been around for the past 20 years, I know what it is. What am I going to court to do when the same INEC that did this is going to come as a witness to defend what they have done? It is a waste of time. I am hugely disappointed”.
