Just in: WAEC Releases Results For 2020 Private Candidates-First Series

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Tuesday, March 3, announced it has released the results of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates who sat for the 2020 first series.

The information was disclosed in a tweet via the exam council’s official twitter handle. Olu Adenipekun, the head of the Nigeria National Office WAEC, at a press briefing, In Lagos state gave a breakdown of the candidates’ performances.

The announcement of the WASSCE result is coming 30 days after the conclusion of the nationwide exam.

The examination which was concluded on February 4, had a total of 12,395 candidates who registered out of which 12,075 sat for the examination. 6,331 were male while 5,744 were female candidates.

Adenipekun said 11,816 candidates have their results fully processed and released while 259 candidates still have a few of their results being processed.

The analysis of the statistics of the performance of candidates shows that 9,438 candidates obtained credit and above in two subjects.

Meanwhile, out of the 12,075 candidates that sat for the examination, 5,251 candidates representing 43.49% obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five (5) subjects

The head of the Nigerian national office added that the results of 548 candidates are being withheld in connection with various reported cases of examination malpractice.
