Three of the six active cases of COVID-19 in Ondo have tested negative for the viral infection and will be discharged later today(Friday), the state health commissioner, Dr. Wahab Adegbenro confirmed to our correspondent.
Adegbenro, while speaking with our correspondent on a phone call also said the state has only one new case of the viral infection, contrary to the Thursday report of the Nigeria center for disease control (NCDC).
The commissioner added that the new case, who was referred to the state University teaching hospital in Ondo town from a private hospital, had his sample taken on Thursday, and that his result came positive this morning.
He also said that the patient will be taken to the state Isolation center any moment from now.
“As it stands now, the state has recorded a total of twenty-three(23) cases, has four active cases, eighteen successful treatments and one Death” He said.
The NCDC had on Thursday reported 337 new cases of the infection spread across seventeen states with Lagos having the highest number of one hundred and thirty-nine cases.
