UK based fiery rights activist, blogger and GIOTV Show Host, Maureen Badejo has faulted the obnoxious judgement by Justice Abiodun Akinyemi of an Ogun State High Court in Abeokuta that slammed N500 million damages against her for libellous publications against the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, MFM, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, and the church saying it is shocking and unacceptable.
The Judge in his outrageous judgement had described GIOTV’s report as “the worst case of reckless defamation and evil use of the internet and social media” in his inequitable judgement.
Badejo, the anchorperson of Facebook-GIOTV Show, had published what the Incorporated Trustees of the MFM and Olukoya described as 52 lies.
She had reported that Olukoya defrauded the government of the United States by selling his books in America without paying due tax on the books.
The Judge in his ruling ordered Badejo to “immediately pull down and erase each of the offending online publications and posts concerning the claimants from the internet”.
Maureen having read the judgement said;
“Olukoya is reckless, foolish and unwise by going to the court to obtain a “kangaroo” judgement without following due process. I operate under the law of the land in the UK which I am following and I was not served any letter to notify me that I have a case in court”.
“Judgement without summon or motion can only happen in Nigeria and this shows the high level of corruption in the country especially within the judiciary.
“The three arms of government in Nigeria are the Legislature, Executive and Judiciary but they are all nothing but corrupt arms of government.
“Some Nigerians hate the truth but I will keep standing up for what is right and the likes of Olukoya that manipulates and perverts justice using the “fantastically” corrupt Nigerian judiciary will continue to be exposed.
“Everything I said about Olukoya is nothing but the truth and no amount of threats or allegations will stop me Maureen Badejo added.
