It’s Completely False That It Was Mary Slessor That First Stopped The Killings Of Twins In Calabar – Gov Ayade’s Aide

Andrea Ekeng Inyang, the Special Assistant to Cross River State Governor on Strategic Communication has stated that it is false that Mary Slessor, a Scottish Presbyterian missionary, stopped the killing of twins in Calabar.

According to him, this history is celebrated in ignorance and also shows the effect of colonialism.

“It is completely false that it was Mary Slessor that first emancipated for the killings of Twins in Calabar, Nigeria. This history is celebrated in ignorance and it speaks volume of the effect of colonialism.” he wrote on Tuesday.
