Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise has been suspended by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

This is as INEC’s online portal for online registration is no longer responding.

A check on Monday showed that the registration portal, https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/home/index is no longer responding.

A notice on the website reads: “The CVR Exercise has been suspended. Access to log-in to check the status of your completed applications will soon be restored.”

The Commission had pegged the deadline for the exercise on July 31, 2022, after an extension of the first deadline of June 30.

The Commission’s last update on the registration exercise on Monday, July 25, indicated 11 million Nigerians have so far registered.

A further breakdown showed that 10,487,972 new registration were recorded with 3,391,940 registering via online and 7,619,179 through physical registration.

The update also revealed the Commission had received a total of 28,453, 255 applications including applications for voter transfer, requests for replacement of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
