The Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Prof. Ajayi Boroffice has disclosed that he can no longer travel to his home town of Oka-Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State for fear of being kidnapped.
Boroffice, who is the Deputy Majority Leader at the upper chamber of National Assembly revealed this while speaking to newsmen at the Akure home of Pa Reuben Fasoranti during a condolence visit over the death of the Afenifere Leader’s daughter, Mrs Funke Olakunrin.
The deceased was shot dead by suspected herdsmen on Friday, last week.
While tasking the Buhari led All Progressive Congress, APC, to urgently address the menace, Boroffice stated that the issue of insecurity had become a daily discourse among senators during plenary.
“The government which I’m part of should find a solution to this problem, the ordinary people in Ondo State will still carry out their businesses, so you can’t ask them not to go out, In the senate I belong to, we discuss this issue of insecurity on regular basis.
“I’m here in Akure now, I would have love to go to Oka, my hometown within my senatorial district but the fear is that how do I move from Akure to Oka because their is a spot near Oba where this people (kidnappers) are, so it concerns everybody.
“It’s not something that people feel unconcerned about, we are all concerned and I believe there is something going on on how to find a solution to this problem,” he stated.
