Actress, Temitope Solaja, aka Star Girl, is of the opinion that there is nothing wrong with dating a fan.

In a chat with Saturday Beats, she said, “There is nothing wrong with dating a fan. Are they not human beings? In as much as the person is caring and loves my job, I can definitely date or marry a fan. However, I won’t go for someone that doesn’t love my job.

“I cannot marry a man who would restrict my success. He knew I was an actress before approaching me, so why would he restrict my success? That means such a person is selfish and doesn’t appreciate what I am doing. Why would I settle down with a man that will restrict my success?”

Sharing some of the challenges she has faced in the industry, Solaja said, “The challenges I faced actually motivated me to do better. I thank God I didn’t relent. I kept pushing. God has been faithful since 2007 when I started acting. I was in my first year in university then. My boss was Afeez Eniola and they mostly shot their movies in Oyo State. Those days, I used to carry a big box from Ijebu Ode (Ogun State) to Oyo State without having an idea of the role I would play or the number of scenes I would be appearing in. Thank God I overcame those challenges. Back then, I wasn’t being paid because they believed they were helping to build my career. Now, things are better.”

On how she reacts to negative social media comments, she said, “Some people are frustrated on social media. If they don’t say negative things about you, they won’t get well. I just block such people; I don’t have time to entertain them.”
