How A Teenager Stabbed 60-Year-Old Woman To Death Ogun Godwin Ogbeifu, a 17-year-old deaf and dumb teenager, has been accused of stabbing a 60-year-old Iyabo Olasheinde to death in Ogun State, GIOTV reports.
Godwin was arrested alongside his 35-year-old mother, Mary Ogbeifu, following a distress call received by the police at Ojodu Abiodun division, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The police was told that Godwin, a resident of Akoko Crescent, Yakoyo area of Ojodu, was said to have visited the compound of the deceased at Omolara Street Yakoyo.
Getting there, Godwin was allegedly sent away, having been warned earlier never to come to the compound again.
Confirming the incident on Friday, Ogun Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, Godwin had returned home to report to his mother how he was chased out of the deceased woman’s compound.
Oyeyemi said his mother had gone with him to the said compound, where an altercation ensued.
In the course of the argument as to why her son was sent away from the compound, the police spokesman said Mary’s deaf-mute son “took a broken bottle which he brought with him and used it to stab the deceased on her neck.”
Meanwhile, the DPO of Ojodu Abiodun police station, SP Eyitayo Akinluwade, had mobilised his men to the scene, where both the mother and son were nabbed.
While saying the body of the woman was deposited at the mortuary for autopsy, Oyeyemi added that the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole has ordered that the case be moved to the Homicide Section of the State CIID for further investigation.
