Jafar Jafar, a popular Nigerian journalist, has reacted to the appointment of the new Chief of Army Staff, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja.

Jafar said the newly appointed COAS is a bandits’ nightmare.

He disclosed this through his Twitter handle on Monday while reacting to the appointments of service chiefs by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to him, Maj. Gen Lagbaja, the General Commanding Officer of the 1st Division, cleared bandits from the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.

He added that the new COAS would boost the fight against insecurity in Nigeria.

“The new Chief of Army Staff, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, is bandits’ nightmare. He was the one who cleared bandits from Abuja-Kaduna Expressway when he was the GOC, 1st Division.

“As a thoroughbred infantry officer, Lagbaja physically led the war against the terrorists. Motorists now ply the road without dread. Now that he’s the COAS, I hope he will replicate this stellar feat in other restive areas of the country”, he wrote.
