Gunmen ‘Kill’ 10, Raze Houses In Fresh Southern Kaduna Village Attack

Gunmen in the early hours of Sunday invaded Atak Mawai ward in Zaman Dabo Village in the Atyap Chiefdom of Zango-Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State and killed no fewer than 10 persons.

The attacks, it was gathered happened at about 3 am on Sunday.

“The attackers stormed the village around 3 am and burnt houses,” said a source, who craved anonymity.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no official casualty figure.

However, sources said over 10 people were killed during the attack while several others sustained injuries.

The attackers, according to a source, invaded the community when the villagers were fast asleep, saying that they went from house to house to sniff the life out of their victims.

The source added that most of the victims were burnt to death while houses were equally razed.

The attack also led to the destruction of houses and other valuables in the community.

“The attackers stormed the community around 3 am when the people were asleep and went from house to house unleashing their deadly act against the people.

“Those killed, over 10, were burnt in their houses as the people were fast asleep as of the time the gunmen came to the community,” the source added.

When contacted the State Police Command could not confirm the attacks.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammad Jalige, promised: “to find out and get back to you (our correspondent)”.
