Gunmen have abducted the spokesperson for the Edo State Command of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Mrs. Bridget Esene.

The PPRO was abducted around the Iqueniro area off Agbor Road, on Sunday morning, January 24, on her way to church in Benin City.

It was gathered that the suspected kidnappers trailed Esene from her home to the church, dragged her out of the car into their vehicle, and whisked her away to an unknown destination.

A source at the Immigration Service, who confirmed the kidnapping to the press, said the abductors are yet to contact her family.

“She was abducted at her church premises around the Agbor road area. Her whereabouts are yet unknown as her abductors are yet to speak with her family. Her car has been recovered where it was dumped at Agbor road bye-pass area and we learned that her abductors headed towards Benin Auchi road axis off the by-pass.” the source said.
