Gunmen have abducted four persons along the Lagos-Asaba Road near Agbor town in Delta State, GIOTV has learned.

The incident took place at Boji-Boji Owa in Ika North-East Local Government Area of the state on Friday evening.

GIOTV gathered that the Railway Bridge area along the Benin-Onitsha expressway has come under hoodlums attack in recent times.

It was learned the abducted persons were inspecting a parcel of land around the area.

A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said: “The four victims were inspecting a parcel of land area the Railway Bridge when the gunmen with sophisticated weapons ambushed them. They dragged the victims to an unknown destination.

“Till this morning, we have not heard anything from the victims or their kidnappers.

“Gunmen have been terrorizing the area of late. The hoodlums are believed to be herdsmen who have laid siege to the route.”

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident, adding it was reported late Friday evening.

She said the command has intensified efforts to rescue the victims from their abductors.
