Governor Umahi’s Ex-aide Arrested For Allegedly Killing His Cousin During Party Primary

Uche Ibiam, a former aide of Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing his cousin, Enyinnaya Ibiam (Jr) during a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) local government primary. 

The suspect who was the Coordinator of Ubeyi Development Centre In Afikpo North Local Government Area before the incident was accused of clashing with his younger brother, Ogbonnaya Ibiam, who before the primary election was a Technical Assistant to Governor David Umahi. 

Uche was accused of masterminding the violence during the primary election and firing a gunshot at his own brother which struck and killed Enyinnaya instead. 

The Ebonyi state police command’s spokesperson, Loveth Idah confirmed the arrest of the suspect who has sacked by Governor Umahi alongside his brother on Friday, February 28. She revealed that Uche is already cooperating with the police in its investigation.
