Four Suspects Arrested For Burning NNPP Office In Kano

The Kano State Police Command on Monday, February 27, confirmed the arrest of four suspects following the death of two persons after thugs set ablaze the campaign office of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of the state on Sunday, February 26.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, who confirmed the incident, said four of the suspected hoodlums are now in police custody.

“At about 1600hrs, reports were received that, while the collation of results was ongoing at Tudun Wada LGA INEC Office, a group of thugs in large numbers mobilized and attacked the campaign office of the NNPP House of Representatives candidate and set the building ablaze.

“Two unknown persons in a stationary motor vehicle inside the building were burnt to death as a result of the inferno,” Haruna said in the statement.

According to him, the suspected hoodlums again mobilized and attempted to block the road leading to the INEC office adding that security personnel was immediately mobilized to the scene.

He explained that one of the thugs was fatally injured and was rushed to the hospital where he died while receiving treatment.

He said that the investigation was ongoing after which the suspects would be charged to court.
