Former NBA President, Olumide Akpata, Quits Law Firm To Pursue Governorship Ambition

The former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Olumide Akpata, has resigned from Templars, a leading law firm where he served as Senior Partner.

 

In a statement issued on Thursday, Apata said he is leaving the firm to contribute to the critical task of nation-building.

His resignation came weeks after he joined the Labour Party (LP) and expressed interest in contesting the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State.

Confirming his resignation in a statement dated 24 August 2023, the firm explained that Apata formally notified the other partners and management of the firm of his decision to participate in active politics and line with the firm’s governance protocols, it was agreed that he stepped aside from the firm with effect from Thursday, August 31, 2023.
