Former Minister Of Commerce, Industry, Jubril Martins-Kuye, Dies At 78

A former Minister of State for Finance and Minister of Commerce and Industry, Senator Jubril Martins-Kuye, has passed on. He was 78 years of age.

Late Kuye died in his home at Victoria Garden City, Lagos toward the beginning of today January 17.

Born on August 1942 in Ago Iwoye, Ogun State studied human science at the University of Ibadan (1965-1968) and afterward Economics at the Harvard University Business School, graduating in 1983. He acquired skills as a Chartered Accountant.

He was a representative in the Nigerian Third Republic. In 1999, he was designated Minister of State for Finance during the initial term of President Olusegun Obasanjo, serving until June 2003. In April 2010, he was named the Minister of Commerce and Industry by former President Goodluck Jonathan.
