According to reports by Kwara_gist on Instagram, the former Grand Khadi of Kwara State Shariah Court, Justice Idris Abdullahi Haroon (Rtd) on Friday hosted his daughter’s wedding ceremony at his GRA residence in Ilorin, in defiance of the state government’s directive proscribing all social gatherings in the state.
It would be recalled that as part of efforts to contain the spread of the highly infectious Coronavirus pandemic, the administration of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq had on Wednesday imposed a partial lockdown in the state, while announcing a ban on social gatherings effective from March 27, 2020.
The state government also barred public transportation including motorcycle, tricycle and taxis, as it warned that defaulters of the new regulations would be adequately sanctioned.
Nonetheless, the wedding of Ms. Barakat Haroon, daughter of the retired judge and Mr Mubarak Jamiu held unperturbed with a large army of well-wishers who thronged the former Grand Khadi’s compound to celebrate the new couple.
