The suspect who is facing a count charge of murder was accused of throwing his six-week-old daughter into a lagoon because she was sick. He reportedly committed the said offense on December 27, 2020, at Ajanaku lagoon in Badagry, in the presence of his son who tried to stop him.

Yussuf reportedly returned home to lie to his wife and her brother that he took their baby to the hospital. The incident was reported to the police after the truth was uncovered.
