Fire Guts Popular Household Of David Church In Ikeja, Lagos Capital

A popular church which is known as Household of David Church at Adeniyi Jones Street, Ikeja Lagos was on Wednesday morning gutted by fire.

 

This was confirmed in a video shared by an X user, Olúwadámilọlá, showing the moment the worship centre was being destroyed by fire.

SaharaReporters has yet to ascertain the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage it caused.

The National Emergency Management Agency Southwest PRO, Ibrahim Farinloye has not responded to a message sent to him for his reaction on the incident as at the time of this report.

This incident came a week after the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed that about 6,700 traders, 450 shops, 30 offices, two hotels and five restaurants were affected by a fire incident which occurred at Mandilas building on the Lagos Island, Lagos State.

NEMA noted that the figures were provided by the Iya Oja of the Atunwase International Market, Mandilas General, Alhaja Adeniji Rashidat.

According to the NEMA statement, the fire spread to nearby market stalls at Atunwase International Market, causing equally substantial damage at the main building.
