FG Names Road After Brave Ebola Doctor

Six years after she died of the Ebola disease, a brave doctor, Ameyo Adadevoh, has finally been honored by the federal government. The federal government in immortalizing her named a major road in her honor.

The road is located along Ahmadu Bello Way, close to the Nigerian Air Force Conference Centre, According to the Cable, the road will now be known as Ameyo Adadevoh Way.

Meanwhile, recall that GIO TV had reported that as a way of inculcating the spirit of patriotism and nationalism in young Nigerians, the House of Representatives has called on the Ministry of Education to include the laudable deeds of late Dr Stella Adadevoh in academic curricula.

Moreover, the House on Tuesday, November 5, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to confer a posthumous honor on Adadevoh, Channels TV reports. Added to this, the lawmakers advised the Ministry of Health to deploy both material and officials at airports, seaports and land borders for thorough screening of travelers so as to avoid a repeat of the epidemic that returned in the Democratic Republic of Congo earlier in 2019. Even more, the House called for the renaming of the government’s health institution in Lagos after Dr. Stella Adadevoh to immortalize her.

Also, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control described her act of saving the country as selfless. It added that it remained committed to building on her legacy, working with MDAs, states plus partners to prevent epidemics.
