An alleged Federal Government sponsored group, Make Nigeria Better Initiative (MNBI) has dragged Nigerian lawyer and Human rights activist, Femi Falana to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for his participation in the recent #EndSARS protest in the country.

Last month, peaceful protesters took to the streets of Nigeria to call for an end to police brutality, though the protest would turn violent after being hijacked by hoodlums and more attacks from security agents.

Femi Falana has now been dragged to the International Criminal Court (ICC), in a petition filed by Joseph Nwaegbu, Esq. a Senior Associate of Pathfind Attorneys on behalf of Make Nigeria Better Initiative (MNBI) on the 3th of November 2020.

The petition was ddressed to the Office of Madame Fatou Bensouda, the Prosecutor, International Criminal Court (ICC).

The human rights activist was accused of allegedly instigating the #EndSARS crisis that led to the deaths of many Nigerians.

The group which also accused Falana of maintaining an antagonistic posture against Nigeria’s security forces, especially the military ever since the country returned to democracy, further stated that the role he played in the protest was not only ignoble but criminal.

The petition is however coming after the human rights activist announced that he and other lawyers are compiling evidence to ensure the trial of the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai before the ICC.
