As the Nigerian economy slips farther into recession, President Muhammadu Buhari has been told to sell nine of the 10 presidential jets he reportedly has.

An ex-aide of Former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri made this call on Tuesday.

Omokri alleged that the President has 10 jets, yet the only time he travels is whenever he wants to see his doctors in the United Kingdom or while looking for who to lend him money.

He advised Buhari to cut his coat according to his clothes by selling nine out of the 10 presidential jets.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Omokri said:

“We are in a recession, yet General Buhari has 10 Presidential Jets. The only travels he does is to go to his UK doctors or junket the world looking for who will borrow(sic) him money. Cut your coat according to your cloth, and sell 9 out of 10. This is why you should join #EndSARS.”

However, there were reactions from his followers who alleged that the jets were purchased when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was in power.

He was asked to explain why he did not advise the PDP to sell the jets when he was with former President Jonathan.
