Euro 2020: Ronaldo Called “A Fool” For Trying To Disgrace Rudiger

Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been labeled “a fool” by former Liverpool midfielder, Didi Hamman, following their 4-2 defeat to Germany.

Ronaldo put his country a

head in the 15th minute, finishing off a sublime counterattack.

Moments later, the Juventus forward produced a stunning piece of skill, flicking the ball up with his instep and over Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, before back heeling it away without looking.

Hamann, a former Germany international, however, was not impressed, claiming Ronaldo’s self-indulgence was counterproductive and would have spurred on the Germans, who came back to win convincingly.

“I think it’s nonsense. He flicks the ball over, pretends he is going to catch it and backheels it across, and looks away… of course it is [amazing] and we know he can do that… I think, in a way, he’s belittling the opposition.

“This is at 1-0 and I’m sitting here while you all rave about it. Yes, he is the best, with Messi… He looks a fool now. This is 1-0. He does look the fool,” Hamann told RTE.
