A High Court in Port Harcourt on Wednesday remanded a suspected fake lawyer, Stanley Atjogbe, in police custody.
Atjogbe was said to have been practising for over 10 years in Rivers State without being caught.
The court remanded Ajogbe at the request of the chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Port Harcourt branch, Prince Nyekwere.
Justice C. Wogu, in his ruling, directed that the suspect be detained pending the outcome of investigations.
Atjogbe was exposed during cross-examination on Wednesday when he was unable to tell the court which Law School he attended and his year of graduation.
The suspect was also unable to state when he was called to the bar, as well as the university he attended.
Meanwhile, the defence team in the criminal matter also tendered reports from the Supreme Court of Nigeria and the national leadership of the NBA disowning him.
Nyekwere, who spoke to journalists, said the suspect’s name is not in the data base of the NBA.
