The Department of State Services (DSS) has released six protesters arrested during the recent #EndBadGovernance protests in Kaduna State.

This follows the completion of investigations ordered by DSS Director-General Adeola Ajayi.

However, three other protesters will face trial.

The protests, which lasted ten days, called for key reforms, including reduced governance costs, reinstatement of the petrol subsidy, improved food security, and enhanced fiscal discipline.

Some demonstrations turned violent, resulting in looting and vandalism across various states. Authorities detained 124 individuals in the Federal Capital Territory for 60 days pending investigations.

Ten detainees have been granted bail, set at N1 million each, after pleading in a federal high court.

Nationwide, security agents arrested 2,111 protesters during the demonstrations, sparked by Nigeria’s growing economic hardship.
