Kanayo O. Kanayo, the veteran Nollywood actor, has weighed into the state of the nation.
The actor said that getting old in Nigeria is no longer an advisable prayer.
The actor cum lawyer made this statement during a recent interview on YouTube.
The 60-year-old Kanayo says the situation of the country is so worrisome that one would question the future of the younger generation.
“Getting old in this country is not anything to be praying for again,” he said. “Because since we were born we’ve been strolling with no electricity and son on and the worst-case scenario is that you go to school and graduate with first-class and you go and work for somebody who failed.”
He argued that problems faced by citizens keep persisting from his childhood till adulthood with no solution.
“60 is not old age, in fact, I am more vibrant than when I was 40. When I look at what’s happening around it makes my heart bleed. You ask yourself what will happen to my son who is 20 in the next 10 to 15 years. It’s quite sad and disheartening.”
