Nigerian dancer and World Guinness Record holder, Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau aka Kaffy has explained to Nigerians why it may take longer before Guinness World Records recognises Hilda Baci’s achievement.
Her comment comes hours after Guinness World Records on Monday said it would have to conduct reviews before acknowledging the longest cooking marathon by an individual, set by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.
Speaking on the Guinness World Records’ perceived delay, Kaffy, who set the Guinness World Record for “Longest Dance Party” in 2006, said technical errors could prevent people from getting verified by Guinness World Records.
Kaffy, who spoke via social media, said it took almost two weeks for Guinness World Records to confirm her feat in 2006.
She wrote: “A lot of people attempt and succeed in beating timelines but don’t get verified because of technical errors.”
She prayed that technical errors would not ruin Hilda’s attempt.
