Hours ago, GIO TV broke the News of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, secretly getting married to one Chioma, an Igbo.

The 83 year old King and new wife were spotted at the installation of Real Estate mogul, Chief Tomori Williams as the Aare Onikoyi of Yorubaland.

With his new wife, Lamidi Adeyemi now has 13 wives. They are Abibat, Rahmat Adedayo, Mujidat, Rukayat,Folashade, Badirat Ajoke, Memunat Omowunmi,Omobolanle , Moji Anuoluwapo and Damilola.

The act makes the octogenarian the first Alaafin of Oyo to have married an Igbo woman or going outside the Yoruba land to get a wife

The octogenarian, as social media gossips said now has a ‘football’ team with his 13 gorgeous wives.

Here are some hilarious reactions as monitored on social media by Kemi Filani.

“The Alaafin wants some Assurance and Chioma is giving him just that” One Sheila wrote

“How does this king get these young fine ladies to marry him, just how? He should hold a training class for us and I will be the first to register and attend” One Peter wrote

“Why can’t this Alafin go and rest , he can’t do anything again, Chioma went there because of money and they will not allow her to have peace” one Funmi wrote

One Ayodeji Ayeni wrote “Why would you be marrying someone that is old enough to be your father? That’s totally absurd……all because of money? Some ladies don’t even love themselves at all…..I also love money….but not to this extent…. My own love of money has limitation….so disgusting! This is child abuse!”

One Joy wrote “The ladies are not marrying him with their open eyes. Something is wrong somewhere how can a lady sees more than 8 wives in a man house and still jump into, not even ugly faces but the most beautiful babes that supposed to get married to single men and enjoy their lives to the fullest. May God Almighty help them in Jesus name Amen”

According to Kabiyesi in an interview, he granted many months ago, his words “I did not propose to any of my wives. They desired to be with me because I sent them to school. After their university education, I told them to leave but they refused and insisted on staying with me here in the palace as my wives. The least educated of them has a Higher National Diploma and is now in the University. I don’t begrudge or offend women. Marriage is an institution that must be defended.”

“Each partner has a role to play in the marriage. My wives have their individual quarters. God has given me some type of ability and grace to keep a woman, especially beautiful women. I don’t disclose my conversations or activities with one wife to another”.

“I maintain a strict code of confidentiality. I have learnt that I must positively make an impact on people and make a great first impression. Of course, they (wives) sometimes have disagreements and conflicts of opinion but I have been ‘graced’ by God to know how to ensure that the conflicts don’t escalate,” said Alaafin of Oyo.
