Nigerians who spray and hawk naira notes at events have been given a stern warning by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
CBN urged such individuals to desist from the act.
The apex bank also warned members of the public who mutilate or counterfeit the naira notes to stop it.
The submission was made by the CBN Director, Corporate Communications Department, Dr. Isa AbdulMumin, during a CBN Fair in Lokoja, Kogi State.
He said public members should regard the Naira as a critical symbol of national identity and should therefore respect it as such.
The CBN official also assured members of the public that the bank will strive to sustain its efforts in ensuring currency availability for transactions.
