President Muhammadu Buhari has joined other Presidents and world leaders to wish Donald Trump of the United States a quick recovery from COVID-19.

A statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant, Garba Shehu, said the president joins all citizens of the US in prayers for a quick and full recovery of Trump and his wife, Melanie.

Trump announced on Friday that he and his wife have tested positive to COVID-19.

The statement said that Buhari “notes with sympathy, that the incident of COVID-19 in the White House manifests the challenge posed by the pandemic across the world, and difficulty in containing the spread.”

While wishing the American First Family a speedy turnaround in their current health status, President Buhari urged for compliance to protocols among Nigerians and adherence to medical doctor’s advice, particularly epidemiologists.
