A few hours after President Muhammadu Buhari extended the lockdown on three Nigerian cities in a bid to check the spread of coronavirus, the country on Monday night confirmed 20 fresh cases of the disease.
The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed on its Twitter handle that 13 new infections were recorded in Lagos, one of the three cities affected by the lockdown, two cases each in Edo, Kano, and Ogun and one in Ondo.
The new discoveries brought the number of people infected by the virus in Nigeria to 343.
