Charles Ezekwem, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, has resigned his position and left the party.
He announced his decision in a letter dated January 25, saying he had consulted his family and supporters across the state.
The letter was copied to the state publicity secretary of the party, the chairman of the party in Okigwe Local Government Area and his ward chairman, Urban ward 11, Okigwe LGA.
Reports say the politician’s action is not unconnected with his intention to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). Others say he resigned in order to safeguard his job as the board of Heartland FC of Owerri, owned by the state government.
