Boko Haram Appoints New Deputy Leader As ISWAP Redeploys Commanders

GIOTV reports that Ameer Bakoura Buduma, the leader of the Boko Haram faction led by late Abubakar Shekau, has appointed a deputy for himself.

Mallam Tahiru Damboa is now the ‘Jaysh’, second in command.Buduma, a Chadian, is supervising Lelewa, a border area between Nigeria and the Niger Republic. Several foot soldiers have been dispatched to dominate a forest close to Rigachikun in Kaduna.

The development coincides with the redeployment in the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). It was gathered that the ISIS affiliate has appointed Huozaifah Ibn Sadiq as Ameer Fiya at Timbuktu Faruuq triangle, replacing Abba Yusuf also known as Abuo Zarah. Houzaifah was formerly the Fitya (Commander) controlling Marte Kirenoa axis in the North-East.

ISWAP also appointed Abou Aseyia as Ameer Fiya in charge of Sambisa forest following the killing of Abou Abdulrahman, earlier transferred from Timbuktu triangle. ISWAP Deputy Defence Minister, Mallam Bakhou Gorgore now doubles as Ameer Jaysh following the death of Sayinna Mallam Baba at Toumboun Odoji.
