Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, his Deputy Engineer Benson Abounu and Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, David Olofu turned out negative after undergoing a test for Coronavirus.
In a statement released by the Governor’s Spokesperson Terver Akase, Ortom who expressed delight of having no new case of Coronavirus in the state, encouraged other Benue residents to voluntarily go for the COVID-19 test.
Governor Ortom also urged residents of the state to continue observing personal hygiene by frequently washing their hands with soap, using sanitizers and maintaining social distancing, to avoid contracting the disease.
He stated that his administration will not relent in its drive to prevent the virus from spreading within the state.
Benue has only recorded one case of Coronavirus since the outbreak of the disease in the country. As of 10:30 pm on April 3, there are 210 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria.
