Bandits Strike Again Abducts 70 Nursing Mothers, Their Children In Zamfara

Suspected armed bandits have abducted over 70 persons including nursing mothers and children after attacking Ruwan Tofa village in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.

According to reports, the suspected bandits riding motorcycles, attacked the village on Wednesday night, shooting sporadically. A resident of the community said the suspected bandits kidnapped at least 70 persons and carted away valuables, including foodstuffs and animals.

Houses and vehicles belonging to villagers were also destroyed and burnt by the rampaging bandits.

“The attack lasted for several hours, the gunmen took at least 70 persons into the forest,” the source said.

The incident occurred few days after gunmen killed 40 persons and abducted many others at Sabuwar Tunga, a neighboring village in Maru LGA.
