Bandits Abduct 8 Residents In Kaduna

Suspected bandits have abducted eight people in two local government areas of Kaduna State.

The attackers reportedly invaded Autan Kuli village in the Yakawada ward of Giwa Local Government Area and abducted six people.

A resident of the area, who wanted to be anonymous, said, “The bandits invaded the village around 2 pm Thursday, shooting sporadically in the air.

“They however succeeded in abducting six people: Usman mai Unguwa, Mashakuru Audu, Umma Nasiru, Hauwa Nasiru, Jamilu Umar, and Sunusi Bashari.”

In a similar development, two people were abducted in Hayin Mallam, Jama’a ward of the neighboring Sabon Gari Local Government Area on Wednesday.

A vigilante source said, “Around 11.30pm Wednesday, kidnappers broke into a house on Shaka Street and kidnapped two people.”

According to the source, “Those kidnapped were Musa Omeza and Fatima Hassan after sporadic shots.”

“After the incident, members of the vigilante group went for a rescue mission but could not find the bandits,” he added.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Police Command, Mohammed Jalinge, had not responded to calls by our reporter as of the time of filing this report.
