Banditry: Four killed, Eight Abducted And Fifteen Others Injured As Suspected Armed Bandits Attacks Niger Community

Four persons have allegedly died following an attack by suspected armed bandits on Fapo Community in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State.

It was also gathered that eight people were critically injured just as 15 were kidnapped by the bandits in the attack which occurred in the early hours of Monday in the village.

It was reported that the bandits stormed the village in large numbers on their motorcycles, shooting sporadically and creating panic as they carried out their operation.

Danlami Idris an eyewitness expressed shock at the way the gunmen freely stormed the village shooting sporadically, causing panic, and killing four persons. He urged the state government and security agencies to rise to their responsibility in securing the lives and property of the people.

According to him,” we are calling on the state government and security personnel to rise to the challenge to avoid future devastating attacks in the communities in the state”. Meanwhile, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO DSP Wasiu Abiodun is yet to return calls put to him for a reaction to the attack.
