Nigerian police and army officers have taken over the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos.

This is to stop the protest over the murder of a 22-year-old fashion designer, Oluwabamise Ayanwole.

Recall that Ayanwole, who went missing on February 26 after she boarded a BRT bus going to Oshodi in the Chevron area of Lagos state, was found dead on Monday.

Following the outrage that trailed Bamise’s gruesome murder, some youths took to Twitter and fixed a protest for Tuesday at the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos by 7am.

In a flier shared on Twitter on Monday, the youths have vowed to storm the state Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja and all BRT terminals in the state.

They also called for justice for the 22-year-old lady and the prosecution of all the suspects involved in the death of the fashion designer.

As of the time of filing this report, men of the Lagos Police Command have surrounded the Fawehimi park and are not allowing anyone to enter the venue of the protest.
