Forty students have been expelled by Auchi Polytechnic, Edo state, over certificate forgery and result falsification.
According to NAN, Adebola Ogunboyowa, the institution’s head of the information and public relations unit, disclosed this in a bulletin on Wednesday.
According to Ogunboyowa, the students were expelled following the outcome of the regular verification exercise for the 2020/2021 academic session.
The institution’s spokesperson said the affected students were involved in forgery and falsification of their results to gain admission into the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.
Ogunboyowa said the expelled students cut across different departments in the polytechnic.
