Presidential flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, and his APC counterpart, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will unveil their running mates for the 2023 election on Tuesday, June 14 and Wednesday, June 15.
According to reports, Tinubu will conclude his consultations with APC Governors on Tuesday, June 14, and will unveil his running mate Wednesday.
Sources in the party say the governors and other stakeholders have also agreed that the NorthEast should produce the Vice Presidential candidate of the party. Tinubu might settle for a Muslim as his running mate.
Atiku on the other hand is expected to unveil his running mate on Tuesday. It is however not clear what section of the religious divide he will pick his running mate from.
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC had earlier set June 17 as the deadline for all political parties to submit their presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the 2023 general elections.
