Popular skit maker and content creator, Yemi Elesho, says Asake’s friends from his days as a struggling artist are complaining that he no longer reply their messages.

Elesho, who attended the same university with Asake, claimed that the singer couldn’t afford accommodation throughout his four years at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, as he was accommodated by friends.

He said since hitting stardom, Asake has now abandoned those friends.

He, however, said it was natural for Asake to snub some of his “old friends” as he could not possibly carry all of them along.

Speaking in a recent interview with Echo Room, Elesho said, “Asake is big and a lot of his friends are complaining that he doesn’t reply their messages but it’s a natural thing, he can’t carry everybody along.”

Asake signed to YBNL Nation in February 2022. That same month, he released his debut extended play, Ololade, which featured his breakthrough song ‘Omo Ope’ featuring Olamide and the single ‘Sungba.’
