Human rights activist and candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 presidential election, Omoyele Sowore has described the Nigerian army as the most powerful political party in Nigeria.

Sowore said this in a tweet on Sunday, adding that the military’s attitude towards the ongoing political crisis in the Niger Republic showed that a substantial number of soldiers supported a particular candidate during February 2023 presidential election.

He said, “Since the boys scouts struck in Niger Republic, I realized the Nigerian military @HQNigerianArmy is the most powerful unregistered political party in Nigeria, they too are for political power through the backdoor (a majority of them even had a candidate in the last election), you don’t want to know how many twitter influencers are in the Nigerian Army at this time. Unbelievable!
