The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has announced the results of Saturday’s local government elections, with the Action Peoples Party (APP) claiming victory in 22 out of the 23 chairmanship positions.
RSIEC chairman, Justice Adolphus Enebeli, disclosed the results in Port Harcourt, while noting that the outcome for Etche Local Government Area remains pending due to ongoing vote tallying. The final declaration for Etche and its 319 council seats will be made at a later date.
