Anthony Joshua has taken a step further to become a bonafide citizen of his fatherland like every other Nigerian citizen.
The WBO, WBA, IBF, and IBO heavyweight champion officially registered to get his national identity card and was handed the slip that had his identification numbers.
But many of the complaints were about getting the original identity cards after several years of registration. Nigerians reacted after NIMC posted photos of Joshua’s registration on their Twitter handle.
One Twitter user said: “Anthony Joshua should expect to get his original National ID by 2025. I applied for my national ID since 2015 I haven’t received it.”
Another added: “I hope Anthony Joshua’s own will not be ready before mine. Baba just applied yesterday.”
A third said: “Since February 2014, I enrolled for the National ID card and I’ve not gotten it. This is 2020 and no hope yet.”
A fourth user made the same complain: “Imagine ordinary Nigerian citizens waiting for 7 years and counting to receive their National ID card, and Anthony Joshua getting his own 7 days after enrollment.”
