Umar Audi, the lawmaker representing Bayo constituency at the Borno state house of assembly is dead.
The Cable reported that the deceased was initially rejected at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital on Tuesday evening as the health workers insisted that there was no bed space.
Audi, however, died shortly after his family members prevailed upon the hospital authorities. An eyewitness said;
“He died shortly after they admitted him. His sample has been sent to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control to certify if the death has anything to do with COVID-19.”
His death came barely a week after Bukar Wakil Lawan, the lawmaker representing Nganzai constituency in Borno died of Coronavirus.
