Anambra Police Rescue Abducted Victims As Suspected Kidnappers Kill One At Petrol Station

Men of the Anambra State Police Command have rescued two kidnap victims after they were abducted along the Ekwulobia/Isuofia road, Aguata LGA on February 28.

A statement released by DSP Daniel Ikenga says preliminary information reveals that the assailants started shooting sporadically on entering cherry fuel station along Ekwulobia/Isuofia road.

”As a result of the shootings, one man who was later identified as Mr. Sabatine Nwabueze was fatally hit by the bullet of the hoodlums and died in his car. The operatives recovered the body and deposited it in the mortuary. The gunmen also abducted 2 persons who came to buy fuel as of the time of the incident.

On the receipt of the information, the CP immediately ordered the tactical teams of the command comprising of Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, Special Forces, and other units to complement the existing security deployment in the area. During a hot chase by the police, the hoodlums abandon the abducted victims and fled”.

Meanwhile, calm has since returned to the area and police operatives have also intensified patrol within the area and in the state.
