It is indeed a trying time for the family members of American singer and songwriter, Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson popularly known as Katy Perry, following the death of one of them.

The singer recently took to her page on Instagram, to share the news of the passing of her paternal grandmother, Ann Pearl Hudson, who died on Sunday, March 8.

Perry while sharing the news penned a lengthy and emotional tribute to her late granny.

“I don’t know when a soul enters a new vehicle but if there is an afterlife where there’s a waiting room of the coming and going my mind wonders if the soul that is waiting to come into my world is getting a kiss on the forehead from my sweet Grandma that departed this earth yesterday. My heart hopes so,” the opening paragraph of her tribute read.

Katy went on to disclose that a lot of what she is, is all thanks to her father just as all of what he is, is all thanks to his mother. She noted that her late granny started it all.

The singer described her granny as a fighter who survived depression, raised three children on her own as a seamstress, among other things. Katy said late Ann was sweet and funny.

Katy recounted how her late granny used to shower her with gifts. According to her, she would carry a part of the deceased in her.

Concluding her post, she prayed her deceased granny to rest in peace.
